How to Keep Your Granite Countertops Clean

Everyone always wants to know, “How do I maintain my countertops? Specifically, what cleaning supplies should I use?”

HERE’S WHAT YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR COUNTERTOPS CLEAN AND SPOTLESS.

1. YOU WANT TO GET ONE BOTTLE OF DAILY CLEANER.

Daily cleaner is the antibacterial cleaner that you use on your countertops every time you cook a meal, prep food, or need to wipe off excess debris.

2. YOU WANT TO GET GRANITE POLISHER.

Polisher is what gets it shiny. Do it once a week during chores and it’ll get the dust off. All the residue from the daily cleaner over the weeks passes through, clears all that off, and makes it shiny.

3. A SEALER IS NECESSARY FOR MAINTAINING COUNTERTOPS.

Every now and then you want spot sealer so you can water test your countertops. If the water collects and stays on top of your counters, it doesn’t need to be sealed, so don’t worry about it. If the water goes into the counter and changes color, you need to reseal it.

You can go to Home Depot for all these products and buy all these things. On that daily cleaner, it must say “Natural Stone Countertops,” for use with products such as granite, limestone, marble, and the like. That daily cleaner you can even buy from HEB. You’ll be going through a bottle about once a month, so you don’t always have to go to Home Depot. The polisher you’ll have to get from Home Depot and the sealer from Lowes. From there, your granite countertops will be set for a long time.
